Tanzania Safaris

Luxury Tanzania Private Safari Tours & Packages

Tanzania is where the Great Migration begins and ends — four ecosystems in a single circuit, the largest intact volcanic caldera on earth, and a scale of wilderness that makes you feel appropriately small.
It is also familiar, in the truest sense: the Mara and the Serengeti are divided only by a line on a map, and I've spent nearly as much of my career on this side of it as the other

What a Luxury Safari Means

A luxury Tanzania safari tour is a fully private guided wildlife experience across Tanzania’s parks and private conservancies
Every journey includes a private 4×4 Land Cruiser, a certified English speaking guide, full board accommodation at personally vetted luxury lodges, all park fees, airport transfers, and emergency medical evacuation cover

We have just returned from the most incredible trip to Kenya, planned perfectly by Tour with Pipi in Africa, and it was honestly the best trip we have ever been on.

From start to finish, every detail was flawlessly organised. Our journey took us from Nairobi to Naivasha (Lake Nakuru) then on to the Maasai Mara for an unforgettable safari experience. We stayed at the beautiful Pearl Mara resort, where we enjoyed breathtaking wildlife encounters and exceptional hospitality. From there, we travelled to Chale Island, often described as the Maldives of Kenya, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation with its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful atmosphere.

We then visited Mombasa, a vibrant city rich in culture and history. One of the highlights was an amazing food tour with the wonderful Chef Chiquila, who introduced us to the flavours and traditions of the region in such a memorable and authentic way.

What made this trip truly special was how well “Tour with Pipi in Africa” listened to our needs as a family travelling with our one year old daughter. As a mother, I value routine because it helps keep my daughter happy, calm, and content. The team completely respected that. They carefully designed an itinerary that allowed us to enjoy everything Kenya has to offer without exhausting our baby or disrupting her feeding and sleeping schedule. We never felt rushed, and every transfer and activity was timed thoughtfully.

Most importantly, we felt safe throughout the entire trip. Our daughter remained healthy and happy from beginning to end, which gave us enormous peace of mind and allowed us to fully enjoy the experience.

The professionalism, attention to detail, local knowledge, and genuine care shown by the team exceeded all our expectations. If you are considering a trip to Africa—especially as a family—we cannot recommend Tour with Pipi in Africa highly enough. They created memories that we will treasure for a lifetime, and we are already dreaming about our next adventure with them!

A beautifully curated 3 nights / 4 days Lamu escape for me and my sisters by Tour with Pipi. From seamless pickup to drop-off, every detail was handled with quiet efficiency and care.

The experiences were thoughtfully chosen — snorkeling with lunch on Manda Island and a serene sunset dhow cruise through the mangroves, both intimate and unforgettable. Pipi’s warm, attentive approach and eye for detail created a truly boutique experience that felt effortless throughout.

Highly recommended for travellers seeking a personalized, refined way to experience Lamu

Lamu was everything we didn’t know we needed. From the calm dhow rides and peaceful streets to the sound of the ocean and the slow island life — experiencing it all with my sisters made it even more special. We laughed, rested, explored, and truly disconnected from the rush of everyday life. Lamu has a way of healing the soul, and doing this trip together created memories we’ll cherish forever 🤍🌊

Which parks should I visit on a luxury Tanzania safari?

The four essential parks on a luxury safari in Tanzania are Tarangire National Park for elephants, Lake Manyara National Park for tree climbing lions and flamingos, Ngorongoro Crater for black rhinos and the Big Five in a volcanic caldera, and the Serengeti National Park for year-round predators and the Great Migration

When is the best time for a luxury Tanzania safari?

The best time for a luxury Tanzania safari tour is June to October for the dry season and the Great Migration river crossings in the Northern Serengeti. January to March is the best time for the calving season at Ndutu with intense predator activity

The four parks build naturally in sequence and TourwithPipi's private vehicle and guide format means first-time travelers have expert support throughout without any group pressure

How many days is enough for a Tanzania safari?

Seven days is the minimum recommended length for a meaningful luxury Tanzania safari covering the northern circuit. This gives you enough time to visit Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Central Serengeti without rushing. Nine to ten days is the ideal length if you want to add the Great Migration river crossings in the Northern Serengeti or include a Zanzibar beach extension as part of the same trip

Yes. The lodges used on TourwithPipi's luxury Tanzania safari tours are all personally vetted for safety, service quality, and guest welfare. Can I wear sneakers on safari?

Yes, for most of the time. Sneakers or light trainers are fine for game drives in the vehicle and for general lodge use. If your itinerary includes guided bush walks or optional walking safaris, closed-toe shoes with ankle support are strongly recommended over flat-soled trainers. For Zanzibar, sandals and flip flops are all you need

What is famous to buy in Tanzania?

Tingatinga paintings, Makonde carvings, kitenge fabrics, tanzanite gemstones, and Zanzibar spices like cloves and cinnamon are popular souvenirs
